Event details

Tuesday 18th March 2025

The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), Bournemouth BH2 5BH

This is a premier south coast event hosted at the BIC and will showcase the very best that Dorset has to offer related to careers and apprenticeships. Dorset employers have a wealth of opportunities available to school leavers and young people and this event allows YOU and STUDENTS to access employers across all sector areas in Dorset.

Schools can book between 9.00am and 1.30pm for groups of students or whole year groups. A 1.5 hour slot is recommended.

The event is aimed at Year 10 – Year 13 students although material provided may be useful for young people of all ages.

What opportunities will be available?

This event allows young people the chance to meet employers and gain further understanding of apprenticeships, training and career progression routes across diverse sector areas. For young people the event will include opportunities for career guidance appointments and interactive sessions.

Benefits for schools are numerous:

  • A high profile event for young people
  • Access to a wide range of employers from all sector areas
  • Opportunities for students to talk with employers about apprenticeships and career routes
  • Workshops available throughout the day
  • Career guidance and advice for students

This event also supports providing a stable career programme through:

  • Gatsby Benchmark 2 (Learning from Careers and Labour Market information) and Gatsby Benchmark 5  (Encounters with employers and employees)

Child Protection and Health and Safety

There is a single point of contact for Child Protection located in the main entrance. We also advise school groups to ensure adequate supervision is in place for students as specified in your Trips and Visits Policy.

Health and safety is important to us and in line with the BIC policy for event management we can inform you that there will be:

  • Separate single point of entry and exit via the Purbeck entrance (dedicated to the Careers and Apprenticeship event)
  • A single point of contact available in the main reception area
  • A dedicated event phone line on the day
  • Separate student and exhibitor cloakroom facilities
  • First aid station based in the reception area with qualified staff
  • Security in line with BIC event guidelines

Should you have any questions regarding Child Protection please do contact our Child Protection Event Manager: Georgie Pinder.
